South Florida is a world-famous area, and as a result of that we have no shortage of events. Next December, the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour will be putting on their second-to-last show of the tour in Fort Lauderdale and we are excited. The lineup this year is diverse and talented and we cannot wait to see what’s coming.

Opening the show will be several unknowns, such as DNCE, Conrad Sewell, R. City, Hailee Steinfeld and Charlie Puth. DNCE is a dance-rock group formed by former-Jonas Brother Joe Jonas. His new project is fresh on the scene and ready to make a name for themselves. Conrad Sewell, Hailee Steinfeld, and Charlie Puth are all up and coming pop singers who are ready to make their stadium concert debut. You may not recognize the name R. City (short for Rock City), but you would absolutely recognize a few songs they have written. After crafting hits for artists such as Akon, Usher, Sean Kingston and the Pussycat Dolls, R. City are ready to put themselves in the spotlight and do some performing of their own.

The show then moves into more well-known artists. Next on the roster is Tove Lo, who most will recognize from her hit singles Habits (Stay High) and Talking Bodies, which were both radio hits this past year. Following her will be Canadian teen pop star Shawn Mendes, who recently came up by posting cover videos on various platforms and ended up getting signed by Island Records.

Breaking up the pop music a bit will be Zedd, one of the most famous EDM artists currently. Everyone will remember his huge hit, Clarity, which was one of the biggest songs in the country in 2013. His strong mix of signature beats and collaborations with incredible singers makes Zedd a force to be reckoned with on stage.

After that brief intermission, the show will move back into the pop star range with huge stars Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas, both of whom found stardom several years ago through Disney. They will lead into 5 Seconds of Summer, an Australian band which stands out as a bit edgier than the rest of the lineup so far. They have seen a meteoric rise to fame in the past year, and it seems they plan on continuing their climb.

Finally, wrapping things up will be the extremely talented hip-hop/R&B singer The Weeknd. The Weeknd has been around for a while, releasing smooth and sensual songs that flow smoothly and gracefully. He saw major recognition this past year after releasing the single Earned It, which was the title track for the 50 Shades of Grey film adaptation. Despite the film’s mixed reviews, the song has met no turbulence in rising through the charts.

The Jingle Ball this year will be be a blast. Between the high energy pop stars covering most of the lineup and the artists representing other genres to break it up, the show should be eclectic and just plain fun.

The iHeartRadio Jingle Ball will be Friday, December 18th at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale. You can get your tickets on TicketMaster.
