It is officially summer time, which means pool parties and cookouts. With all the events of summer now closer than ever, you will need some new ideas to keep things interesting. After scouring Pinterest for awesome summer-themed DIY’s, we have compiled a list of the top 5 projects we could find. Enjoy!
This one is super easy and cheap to do. All you need is a pineapple, some flowers (preferably colorful), and something to clean out the pineapple with. All you do is empty the pineapple like you would a pumpkin on Halloween, put some water in it, and voila you have a tropical vase for your flowers. It won’t last for long, but they are easy enough to make that replacing it shouldn’t be much of a hassle.
Wagon Wheel Flower Bed
The most difficult part of this one is getting your hands on a wagon wheel, but after that it is just a matter of gardening. Place soil between the spokes of the wheel in order to create separated flower beds with a unique aesthetic to them! Use this to raise up some summer flowers to put in your new pineapple vase.
Mason Jar Luminaries
Mason jars are huge right now, and this is a great way to implement them into your decor. By combining floating candles, essential oils, citrus and rosemary, you can create these great looking, great smelling candles. These candles also serve a double purpose, acting as bug repellant which is entirely necessary for Florida summers! The directions for making these can be found
Paper umbrellas immediately give off the “fruity drink pool party” vibe, so why not stick them on your front door? This wreath can be made by simply sticking paper umbrellas into either a grapevine or foam wreath, and you instantly have a high energy summer aesthetic!
Utensil Mason Jars
If you’re going to have a cookout, you have to have utensils. This project allows for some creative license, but the gist is that you decorate mason jars to fit the theme of your party and store silverware. Simple, but a fun and effective way to keep the decorations interesting!
