Holiday in Paradise: Great Local Celebrations

It might not be snowing [thank goodness!] but you can still feel the holiday spirit here in Palm Beach County. And what better way to spread holiday cheer than attending one of the many events our county has to offer?

We’ve searched high and low to bring you a number of events to pencil in your calendar. These aren’t your average holiday parties or “Visit Santa” photo ops you find at your local mall, and that’s exactly why they’ve made our Nice List.

Sandi Land: Holiday in Paradise (Dec 3rd – 31st)

This is West Palm Beach Waterfront’s magnificent holiday celebration that offers family fun activities and free entertainment! The event kicked off on December 3rd and runs until December 31st. Every night at the gigantic sandcastle tree there’s light shows accompanied by music and visitors from all over. Live concerts will be held on a select number of days, which you can find out more at:

Christkindlmarkt (Dec 5th & 6th)

If you’re a travel bug and enjoy immersing yourself in cultures from all around the world, then this is the Holiday event you should check out. Christkindlmarkt is hosted by the American German Club of the Palm Beaches on December 5th and 6th on Lantana Road in Lake Worth. This event is inspired by the holiday outdoor markets found in Germany, featuring unique traditional food and drink vendors, ice skating rink, live entertainment, shopping and family activities! Free admission for children under 12 and general admission (adult age 12+) at $8, but can be waived by bringing an unwrapped toy for the club’s Toy Run. Breakfast with Santa at the Palm Beach Zoo (Dec 13th, 19th & 20th)

Take your visit with Santa to the next level at the Palm Beach Zoo’s “Breakfast with Santa!” This is ideal for all those animal enthusiasts that love a hot breakfast buffet! Enjoy meet ‘n’ greets and photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus, but there’s more! Everyone in attendance will get to experience up close animal encounters, as well as face painting, crafts and complimentary rides on the Wildlife Carousel. Flagler Museum’s Holiday Evening Tours (Dec 18th – 23rd)

Immerse yourself in the history of Palm Beach with a holiday twist at the Flagler Museum this December 18th through the 23rd! These evening tours will give you a peek into the famous wealthy lifestyle Henry Flagler once lived and allows you to discover the origins of American Christmas traditions while walking the elaborately decorated Whitehall. Holiday Boat Parade (Dec 5th)

The Town of Jupiter is excited to celebrate their Holiday Boat Parade this December 5th at the Plaza Down Under on the Riverwalk! Gather around to watch the line of fabulously decorated boats drive by while partaking in a number of family fun activities and performances! You might even get the chance to spot the famous Kris Kringle himself! Head over to their site to check out the entire schedule for that night!
