A Palm Beach Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching. Since the heart-felt holiday falls on a Sunday this year, you get some more range in planning your perfect day with that special someone. Don’t just settle for dinner and a movie, use all those glorious daylight hours to get out and take advantage of Palm Beach’s many amenities. Here are some cool Valentine’s Day ideas for this year.

Breakfast at E.R. Bradley’s

While Bradley’s is well known as a fun bar and night spot, they also have a pretty great breakfast menu. The outdoor seating options allow for optimum conditions to enjoy mimosas in the sun with that special someone. Nothing kicks off Valentine’s Day like a delicious Eggs Benedict with a shining sun and the intracoastal as the backdrop, plus being at Bradley’s puts you in position to do plenty of cool things downtown after you’re sufficiently stuffed.

Sailing Lessons

This one is definitely for the active couple. The Palm Beach Sailing Club (website here) is located on Flagler Avenue, and offers a special Valentine’s sailing course. For $250, you and your date can get a private sailing lesson for 3 hours out on the Intracoastal. The lesson is personalized to your skill level, so if you both like water you’re almost guaranteed to have a good time.

Ladybug Release Party

Alright this one is technically for kids, but it’s pretty awesome (and if you have kids, it’s a perfect way to have a family oriented Valentine’s). The party takes place at the Palm Beach Zoo, where they have ladybug themed crafts, a ladybug costume contest, and ladybug releases. The Zoo is pretty awesome in general, but releasing ladybugs gives it that special something that’s perfect for a calm, fun Valentine’s Day.

Jupiter Lighthouse Toast

Want to combine activity and drinks this Valentine’s Day? Search no further. For $50, you and your Valentine can get private access to the Jupiter Lighthouse and enjoy a 15 minute champagne toast at the top. A bit of exercise, a bit of champagne, and a phenomenal view make for a pretty memorable Valentine’s adventure. This one requires reservations, so be sure to call in advance. To RSVP, call 561-747-8380, ext. 101.

Dinner at The Breaker’s Seafood Bar

I know I know; dinner at The Breakers is a super obvious choice for Valentine’s Day. But can you blame me for this one? Seafood Bar has probably the greatest aesthetic of any restaurant in Palm Beach. Between the aquarium bar and the gorgeous view of the ocean, you can’t go wrong (and that’s before even considering the incredible food). This one will absolutely require a reservation, but Seafood Bar is totally worth the hassle. A delicious dinner with a great view of breaking waves is the perfect cap to any Valentine’s Day celebration.
